On the 14th of February, 2024, to resolve the case"Cabral Maria Eugenia S/ Apelación Falta Municipal”, (Case No. 17532), the No. 3 Criminal Court emphasised that the presumption of innocence lies on the accused, and that official records which fail to name witnesses of an event cannot be considered conclusive evidence. As not all the elements required to establish the existence of a punishable act could be verified with certainty, the Court concluded that the only possible outcome was to acquit the defendant.
