New Uber Driver Acquittal By Posadas Court
On the 14th of May, 2024, in the case “Mancuello Jorge Sebastián”, the No. 1 Municipal Infractions Court acquitted the defendant on the grounds that the act in question recorded as an infraction cannot be punished as such, according to existing regulations, given that, in principle, transporting passengers is not an activity prohibited by law. Furthermore, the elements in the case were not sufficient to determine which type of transportation was carried out (public or private). Additionally, at that time, no regulation had been issued to establish the authorization required by permit holders offering passenger transportation services through electronic platforms.
