On the 2nd of August, 2024, in the case “Sosa Elías Daniel”, No. 1 Municipal Infractions Court acquitted an Uber driver who had been served an infringement report for providing transportation services without municipal authorisation. To reach this decision, the Court held that, at that time, Ordinance XVI N° 116, which permitted the provision of transportation services via digital platforms, had not yet been regulated. Therefore, until it is regulated, no authorisation needs to be requested to provide such services.
